Established in the UK in 2000, Skanska has more than 3,300 local experts delivering projects across sectors including real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.
Constructing and operating buildings accounts for more than one-third of the world's carbon emissions.
At Skanska we've committed to our industry-leading target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2045, and that includes our supply chain too. Using our knowledge and foresight, we are shaping sustainable places that support healthy living beyond our lifetime, helping to protect people and our planet.
Our approach is to prioritise decarbonisation as far as is possible, and materials form a significant part of our strategy for this. Circular materials are a crucial stepping stone in reducing carbon and waste production, and steel is key as its proportionately significant within the built environment.
As part of delivering against our ambitions, Skanska has committed to driving down the emissions in steel as members of the Climate Group #SteelZero initiative. We have also worked closely with our supply chain to develop our digital capability to propose agile and specific circular steel options to our customers in line with current available supply.
